The Bills signed their 7th Round draft pick linebacker Mario Haggan to a contract. As is the usual case terms were not announced. Haggan was the 228th player taken in the 2003 NFL Draft.

Haggan was a three-year starter who played both linebacker and defensive end at Mississippi State. He led the team in tackles in each of his three campaigns as a starter … Recorded a total of 359 tackles (202 solos) with 10 sacks for minus-87 yards, 5 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, 4 pass deflections and an interception while starting 31 of 40 games over those three seasons. His 359 tackles place him eighth on the school's career list. He was shifted to middle linebacker his senior season, and made 119 tackles - eight for losses - and forced three fumbles. He had two quarterback pressures and no sacks.
