Offseason moves: Signed Dustin Keller (N.Y. Jets); lost Anthony Fasano (Kansas City)
Analysis: The addition of Keller gives the Dolphins the downfield threat at the position they've been lacking for so long, but he was signed to only a one-year contract. That means that the possibility exists that the Dolphins could take a tight end in the draft. Egnew is the wild card here. He was taken in the third round last year because of his downfield potential, but he needs to step up significantly to become a contributor. Clay has some pass-catching ability, but he's probably not consistent enough to become more than a role player.
The draft class: This looks like a very good tight end crop, and guys Tyler Eifert of Notre Dame, Zach Ertz of Stanford and Gavin Escobar of San Diego State could interest the Dolphins in the early rounds.
BREAKING DOWN THE TE PROSPECTS:
The top prospect: Tyler Eifert, Notre Dame
Potential first-round picks: Tyler Eifert; Zach Ertz, Stanford
