The Bills started their draft like many thought they would. Yet by the end of Day 1 there were a few people surprised by the way the rest of the day panned out.
With their first pick in the 2004 NFL the draft the
Buffalo Bills
selected WR
Lee Evans
. Evans wasn't much of a surprise especially with
USC
Mike Williams
was declared uneligible to be drafted by a Supreme Court ruling earlier in the week. Evans offers the Bills the speed that was lost when the team traded him to the
Atlanta Falcons
. To learn more about Evans read his

.
After the Evans selection it looked like the Bills wouldn't be picking until the 2nd round. Then GM Tom Donahoe surprised everyone when he traded the team's 2nd Round and 5th Round Draft in this year's draft along with it's 1st Round draft selection in next year's draft for Tulane's QB JP Losman. Losman has all the skills a team could want in a QB. He possess a strong arm and the speed to be a good scrambling skills yet his somewhat lack of leadership skills and perpensity to somedays to take a sack will draw comparisons to another Bills QB of recent year known by the name of
Rob Johnson

THe Bills rounded out their draft by selecting DT
Tim Anderson
out of
Ohio State
. Anderson is a strong run stopping DT. He should be a key member of the Bills rotation at DT. Though he may never be a full time starter in the NFL because a lack of elite skills. You can read more about him at his
NFL Draft Expert Bio (sub req'd)
.
Barring another trade the Bills will have three picks tomorrow afternoon, one in the fourth and two in the seventh round. Check back with Bills Report.com to learn more about the players picked and our thoughts in the entire draft tomorrow and later this week.
