The Bills made Jonathan Smith the 214th player selected in last April's draft. While at Georgia Tech he also served as a punt returner, running back and quarterback. Smith's best chance at making the Bills 2004 squad will likely be as a punt returner and depth WR. If not he could find himself on the team's 8 man practice squad. Over four seasons he had 174 catches for 2,238 yards to rank fourth among Yellow Jacket receivers. He also had 12 touchdowns.
Smith joins fellow 7th Round draftee Dylan McFarland to sign with the team, McFarland signed earlier this month. The Bills also signed 4th Round pick Tim Euhus earlier this offseason leaving only three picks unsigned, all of whom were selected on the first day of the draft. Those picks are first round selectionss WR Lee Evans and QB J.P. Losman and third round pick DT Tim Anderson.
