Former All-Pro Gildon visits Bills

Former Pittsburgh Steelers All-Pro Jason Gildon LB visited the Bills on Tuesday.

While the Bills don't need a starting LB, the team brought in Jason Gildon for a look perhaps to help add to a suspect pass rush.

There are some concerns Gildon might not be the same pass rusher that allowed him set the Steelers' record with 77 career sacks yet his pass rushing abilty would be a welcome addition to the Bills. Part of the reason the Steelers made him a cap casuality is his sack numbers have lowered the last two seasons. Gildon combined for just 15 sacks in the past two years after averaging double digit sack totals the previous four seasons. Although he had just 6.0 last season, those 6.0 would have placed him second highest on the Bills. The team needs to find someone to compliment right-side DE Aaron Schobel, who led the team with 11 1/2 sacks last season.

Gildon is exploring his options as he has also met with the Green Bay Packers. Peter Schaffer, his agent, said his client has also drawn interest from Chicago and Cincinnati.
