WR Jonathan Smith joins active roster

The Buffalo Billls have elevated Jonathan "Fast Freddie" Smith to the 53-man roster. This leaves the Bills an open spot on their eight practice roster. The Bills also waived receiver Drew Haddad, who had been hampered by a hamstring injury but finally was able to practice today.

Jonathan Smith joined the team this season as a 7th Round selection out of Georgia Tech. Smith might even see sometime in Sunday's game against the Jets due to the injury of Josh Reed. Reed is expected to miss the game as he's still recovering from a knee he sustained early in last week's victory over the Cardinals.

In other injury news it looks as though Troy Vincent will likely also miss the game as he is trying to come back from a Week 2 injury to his knee. Special teams and backup safety Coy Wire is also expected to miss the game due to an abdominal injury.
