Bills up-to-date injury report
Winfield should be ready
Winfield should be ready

Jay Riemersma may not be available this week. The veteran tight end is listed as questionable on the Bills’ injury report with a back injury suffered against New England on Nov. 3. He will try to work out with the team this afternoon, however.

“He should practice today,” said Gregg Williams, intentionally being very mysterious on Riemersma’s injury after Bills management was upset about the reporting of player injuries prior to the Patriots game. “He’s listed as questionable. And he should practice today.”

On the bright side, cornerback Antoine Winfield is ready. He should help improve the tackling, which was a major problem against New England.

“It’s a good boost,” Williams said of Winfield. “Hopefully, barring any setback in practice this week, he should be ready to roll and obviously he’s one of our better tackling players on our defense.”

Safety and special-0teamer Tony Driver is listed as probable with a hip injury. Not listed is rookie right tackle Mike Williams, who had a hamstring pull, but made a go of it against New England. He should be 100 percent vs. the Chiefs.

For Kansas City, starting defensive tackle Derrick Ransom is out with a foot injury. Fifth-year player Nate Hobgood-Chittick would probably start in his place. He doesn’t have much starting experience.

Also, free safety Jason Belser is listed as probable with a head injury. Belser had been replaced in the defense by second-year play Shaunard Harts, who’s considered a better playmaker. Belser had been a Bills-killer in the past. On the Monday night game vs. Indy two years ago, in which the Colts destroyed Buffalo, he recorded 10 tackles, a sack and a pass defensed. But he’s an 11-year veteran and helps out in certain packages.

The only other player on the injury list is reserve right tackle Willie Jones, who’s out with a neck injury.
