Buffalo's owner said Monday that the Bills' maligned head coach will not be fired yet...

Dick Jauron isn’t going away any time soon.

That was Ralph Wilson’s message on Monday. Despite Buffalo’s ugly 6-3 loss to the lowly Cleveland Browns Sunday, Jauorn’s job is safe.

Buffalo’s owner didn’t exactly give Jauron a ringing endorsement but he doesn’t sound prepared to pull the plug any time soon.

"Yesterday was so bad that it's hard to make a decision right now,” Wilson told reporters Monday. “I'm not going to make any decisions during the middle of the season right now. At least right now."

Jauron has gone 3-12 as the Bills’ head coach in the team’s last 15 games. After nearly upsetting the New England Patriots in week one, the Bills have taken plenty of steps backward. Injuries have certainly taken their toll, but the offense has been particularly putrid. Despite a surplus of weapons, Buffalo’s offense ranks 25th in the league. Trent Edwards has been below par, failing to push the ball downfield. Still, Jauron insisted Edwards will remain the starting quarterback for now.

And Jauron will be safe himself. For now. Much like he laughed after Buffalo’s 16-3 loss to Miami last year, Wilson tried to make light of the Bills’ disastrous loss. Urgency was not laced into his words.

"They can't do this to me much longer," he joked, adding, "There's not much I can say about yesterday except it was awful."

Buffalo has scored one offensive touchdown in its last three games, two of which came against winless teams. The Bills will travel to New York Sunday to play the Jets this coming weekend.

When should Jauron go? Rant and rave in the ROCKPILE.
