Biography:
Bob Whitfield is a cagey veteran who has been a solid tackle for many years. Early in his career, Whitfield displayed the ability to dominate the opposition at the point of attack in the pass and rushing game. His long arms and athletic ability made Whitfield one of the better offensive tackles to play in the last decade. With age, he has lost a step which can be evidenced in the manner speed rushers can work the veteran coming off the edge. Still displays the ability to be a sufficient run blocker and at times can get to the second line of defense. At this time, Whitfield should be considered a reserve, depth type player.
