| The Vikings signed offensive tackle Jon Carman to the active roster on Oct. 22, 2002. Carman had been in for a workout with the team previously. Carman originally made the Buffalo Bills team as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2000. He went on to start three games for them last season but was the odd man out with the addition of Mike Williams through the draft and the free-agent signing of Trey Teague. Carman is a big, pure right tackle-type who played for assistant head coach George O'Leary at Georgia Tech.
