WR Terrell Owens: Sore foot sidelines WR by Tyler Dunne of BuffaloFootballReport.com, August 11, 2009 at 11:36pm ET
Terrell Owens Profile
Keep the Orville Redenbacher on hold for now. Terrell Owens' home debut may not be Saturday against the Chicago Bears. After Tuesday night's practice, head coach Dick Jauron said Owens is "day-to-day" with a toe injury suffered against Tennessee in the Hall of Fame Game.
It's not clear how Owens suffered the injury. It was first disclosed on the receiver's Twitter page when Buffalo's team bus headed to the airport Sunday night. Owens tweeted, "Damn, my toe is aching!"
Look for Buffalo to be extra cautious with this. Rehabilitation can be very time-consuming for toe injuries. Turf toe can take several weeks to recover from. Buffalo may wait for the toe to completely heal before sending its star receiver back onto the field. It's unknown exactly what Owens' toe injury is at the time, though.
The injury never came up during post-game interviews in Canton. Stay tuned to BuffaloFootballReport.com for updates.
