Jairus Byrd Profile
Second-round pick Jairus Byrd finally made his training-camp debut Monday. He had been sidelined due to sports hernia surgery.
Byrd hopes to get onto the field this weekend in Green Bay. After missing three weeks of practice, he's eager to catch up physically.
Byrd is expected to compete for time at free safety. The team drafted him for a playmaking flair in deep center.
Fellow safety Bryan Scott, who suffered a sprained knee and ankle Saturday, was in attendance Monday but not practicing. His injuries are not deemed serious. Meanwhile, cornerback Drayton Florence was not on the field. Still, his injury is not expected to be serious.
