WR Terrell Owens: WR back in action by Tyler Dunne of BuffaloFootballReport.com, August 31, 2009 at 5:41pm ET
Terrell Owens Profile
Terrell Owens is back on the field and it couldn't come at a better time.
After missing the last three weeks with a sore foot, Owens returned to practice Monday and said the pain is fading.
"It felt good to be back out," Owens told the Buffalo News. "Obviously dealing with a toe injury, no one really knows the extent of it and how it really feels to have a bum toe. But I've done all the treatments and it's gotten better week to week. I felt better coming into this week getting a little practice in."
Buffalo's first-team offense hasn't scored a touchdown yet this preseason, rarely pushing the ball downfield. T.O. isn't worried about the punchless passing attack.
"I know that's the nature of preseason. I'm sure everyone wants us to win every preseason game, but that doesn't happen. I think the year the Patriots won the Super Bowl, I think they may have lost every preseason game, so there's really not a whole lot to just look into as far as the preseason, but obviously I understand the fans frustration. Obviously they want to see some production, see some big plays, but that'll come."
Hard to say if Dick Jauron will play T.O. in the Bills' final preseason game. Typically, starters only play a series or two. After nursing the foot for nearly a month, coaches might be cautious again.
