OT Demetrius Bell: LT will miss game by Tyler Dunne of BuffaloFootballReport.com, October 3, 2009 at 2:10pm ET
Demetrius Bell Profile
At this rate, Buffalo will be converting tight ends to offensive tackles. A position already decimated by injury suffers another big blow with Demetrius Bell (groin) out for Sunday's game in Miami.
Jonathan Scott will flip from right tackle to left tackle, as Kirk Chambers will move into the right tackle spot. Neither seemed close to starting just a few weeks back. Scott fared alright last week against the Saints, whereas Chambers struggled.
On the bright side, sackmaster Joey Porter is not 100 percent. Porter is 50/50 for the game with a hamstring injury. Still, the Bills will need to adjust their blocking schemes in some way to combat this rash of injuries. Bell, despite a string of penalties in the opener, had been playing above average.
If Scott and Chambers are serviceable, don't expect the Bills to rush Bell back. The last thing they want is for a groin injury to derail Bell's young career. It could be tough sledding, though. Miami loves to blitz. Look for tight ends to stay in tight to block often Sunday.
