LB Paul Posluszny: MLB back for Sunday? by Tyler Dunne of BuffaloFootballReport.com, October 13, 2009 at 10:41pm ET
Paul Posluszny Profile
A stroke of good karma may finally be coming Buffalo's way.
After losing both Kawika Mitchell and Marcus Buggs to season-ending knee injuries, the Bills may be getting Paul Posluszny back sooner than expected. The Buffalo News' Allen Wilson has learned that Posluszny has told teammates he hopes to return to action this Sunday against the New York Jets.
Posluszny has sat out four games since breaking his left arm. He has suffered the same injury against the New England Patriots in two of his three seasons in the NFL. It appears he may be returning from the second ailment two weeks earlier than initially expected.
Possibly no team has been slammed by more injuries defensively than Buffalo. After losing Mitchell and Buggs, it was assumed the Bills would dive into a picked-over free agency pool for a quick fix until Posluszny was ready. Now it appears they will not need to reach for a Pat Thomas or Derek Smith. Posluszny, if ready, would assume his "Mike" spot with Keith Ellison and Ashlee Palmer to his sides.
Ellison played the "Mike" in an emergency role Sunday when Mitchell and Buggs went down.
If Posluszny plays, it is a smart idea? Or would Buffalo be rushing things? Let us know
in the ROCKPILE.
