| QB's status uncertain for Carolina by Tyler Dunne of BuffaloFootballReport.com, October 19, 2009 at 3:31pm ET Trent Edwards Profile One day after suffering the second concussion of his career, Trent Edwards' status for Buffalo's game next week at Carolina is uncertain. Head coach Dick Jauron didn't get into details on Edwards' concussion. Tight end Shawn Nelson also suffered a concussion in the Bills' 16-13 overtime win over New York Sunday. “Trent and Shawn (Nelson) both had head injuries that are being further examined today and we’ll know more as we get on through the week,” Jauron said. Edwards endured his first concussion on Oct. 5, 2008 in a loss at Arizona. Statistically, he's been on the decline ever since Adrian Wilson's blindside hit that day. In 14 games since, he has thrown 12 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. For now, Jauron said the team is taking Edwards' situation "day to day." Jauron wouldn't commit either way. In relief, Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 10-of-25 passes for 116 yards, one touchdown and one pick. Considering this is Edwards' second concussion in two years, it's difficult to see the Bills rushing him back here. Stay tuned to the Buffalo Football Report for more updates. |
