McGee has surgery by Tyler Dunne of BuffaloFootballReport.com, November 4, 2009 at 2:06am ET
Terrence McGee Profile
For five games, Terrence McGee has battled a sore knee. He played through it. And played well.
But he needed to take advantage of Buffalo's bye week to correct the issue. The Bills' No. 1 cornerback underwent minor surgery on his sore knee Tuesday to fix a torn meniscus. McGee doesn't expect to miss an extended period of time, though he could be a scratch for Buffalo's next game against Tennessee.
"They said everything went good," McGee told reporters. "I'm not so sure how long the recovery time is, a couple weeks maybe. Something like two weeks. It's not real long. So this bye week helped me out."
Remarkably, McGee has played well with the bum knee. Against two of the NFL's premier wide receivers, McGee held his own. He held both Andre Johnson and Steve Smith out of the end zone the last two weeks. With Leodis McKelvin out for the year and starting safeties Donte Whitner and Bryan Scott banged up, Buffalo has needed McGee on the field. He has responded. The Bills' pass defense has totaled 15 interceptions, second most in the league.
