Chiefs extend record to 8-0 in defeating Bills

Before a national audience on ESPN the Kansas City Chiefs continued their perfect season in defeating the Buffalo Bills 38-5.

The Bills took an early 2-0 lead on the Chiefs on a safety by a block of a Dan Stryzinski by Pierson Prioleau but it be the only lead the Bills hold all night.

Following the free kick the had a chance to take of some great field position starting at their 48 but the Bills offense stalled at the Chiefs 39.

Following a Brian Moorman punt the Chiefs took just four plays to go 80 yards and take a 7-capped by a 67 yard touchdown pass from Trent Green to Dante Hall.

The Bills offense's woes continued when kicker Rian Lindell missed a 49 yard field goal and gave the Chiefs offense the ball back to finish out the first quarter. The Chiefs responded with another touchdown drive this time lead by the running of Priest Holmes.

The Bills offense finally started to put something together when WR Josh Reed fumbled the ball on the next drive and the Chiefs answered with another Holmes' touchdown.

A small rally and field goal looked to put the Bills in it but the Chiefs got the ball back and scored another touchdown to go up 28-5 at the half. Though just before the final minute of the half Bills quarterback tossed an interception which would be the first of four total turnovers (three interceptions and one fumble) on the veteran on the night.

The Bills defense held the Chiefs offense in check for most of the second half but couldn't overcome the aforementioned turnovers as Priest Holmes would score a third touchdown of the night seconds into the final quarter.

Each team's backup quarterbacks Alex Van Pelt and Todd Collins both saw some time in the final quarter with the latter leading his team a field goal to finish out the scoring and a Chiefs 38-5 victory. Both teams have an off week this week and won't return to game action until the second weekend in November.
