Bills and Browns set to practice & scrimmage
One Bills player excited about the festivities will be last year's top pick RB Willis McGahee. This will mark the first time McGahee will face NFL competition as he missed all of last season recovering from a knee injury he sustained during his final season at the University at Miami.
"No nerves," McGahee said. "But it's good to play against other people besides your teammates that aren't going to treat you easily. Yeah, it's an important step."
However, two Bills will miss the contests. DT Sam Adams is being held out with a hamstring injury and back up FB Joe Burns has a high ankle sprain.
The Browns will also be missing a few players. The biggest name being TE Kellen Winslow Jr., the team's top pick in this past April's draft has yet to sign with the team. The other is LB Chaun Thompson. Thompson is out because he broke a bone in his wrist when he hit a teammates helmet earlier this week.
"He will be out for this weekend with Buffalo and the scrimmages, and more than likely he will miss next week," said Browns coach Butch Davis. "He can run, but they don't want him to have any contact with it.
Former Bill OL/LS Scot Osbourne is among those trying to make the Browns this season. Meanwhile former Browns' TE Mark Campbell and Keith McKenzie look to make the Bills.
